ERBIL — A member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reportedly been killed by unknown armed men in Iranian Kurdistan’s district of Shno (Oshnaviyeh).

According to information obtained by BasNews, the killed Iranian revolutionary guard was gunned down overnight on Sunday.

The killed member of the IRGC, identified as Saleh Ghasemi, is said to have been playing a leading role in a military clash between the Iranian forces and Kurdish Peshmerga fighters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) two years ago in Qarasaqil village, near Shno.

The Kurdish armed group of Zagros Eagles, affiliated with the KDPI, has claimed responsibility for killing Ghasemi.
