A group of civilians, who were seeking to travel to more secure areas, were targeted by ISIS near Deir ez-Zor on Saturday. At least two hundred were killed and scores were wounded in the attack.

A YPG fighter, Ayaz Heseke told ANHA, that an ISIS member with a bomb-laden car, blew himself in the middle of civilians who were waiting near an SDF checkpoint in Jaffra.

Heseke said that the civilians were escaping from clashes between ISIS and the Syrian regime.

“The civilians come to the areas which are controlled by SDF fighters. The fighters welcome them and settle them in secure areas. They were escaping because of the practices of ISIS and the regime” he said.

A civilian from Deir ez-Zor, Fewz Al Bextari said that they had to leave their houses because of ISIS and an ISIS member blew himself up in the middle of their convoy.

“What is did we do to deserve living amid cruelty and ruins” Bextari said.
