ERBIL — The Iranian authorities executed 135 Kurdish citizens across the Kurdish region of Iran during the past twelve months, according to reports.
On October 10, the World Day Against the Death Penalty, Hengaw News Agency for monitoring human rights in Iranian Kurdistan released a report of executions against the Kurdish citizens. The report contains the records of the executions from October 10, 2016 to October 10, 2017.
135 Kurdish citizens were executed in Iran’s prisons over the past twelve months, Hengaw reported.
According to the report, the executed Kurdish citizens were from different provinces of Iranian Kurdistan such as Urmia, Lorestan, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan and Qazvin.
The prisoners were executed on various charges, including political, ideological, drug-related offenses, murder, robbery, rape, and others.
Moreover, 8 prisoners were executed in public and 127 others were executed inside the prisons.
There were also two women among the executed individuals.
