ERBIL— An Iranian Kurdish political prisoner is suffering a “critical” health situation following 66 days of hunger strike.

Mohammed Nazari, who has already served 23 years of his sentence in prisons in Karaj and Ormumiyyeh, cannot even drink water after his long lasting strike, according to a report by Hengaw website which monitoring the human rights in Iranian Kurdistan.

Nazari, who is currently serving his sentence in Rajaee prison of Karaj, had demanded that he no longer be kept in solidarity confinement.

The inmate from the town of Shahindezh in Western Azerbaijan province received a temporary treatment on the 53th day of his strike and later was moved back to solidarity conferment.

Nazari was arrested in Bokan and was sentenced to death by hanging by court. But later his verdict was changed to life imprisonment.
