HAKKARI — A planted bomb hit Wednesday a vehicle carrying Turkish soldiers in Hakkari Kurdish Province near the border with Iran, leaving four soldiers dead, the Turkish media reported.

The explosion which occurred in Yuksekova district of Hakkari Province killed four soldiers and wounded four others.

According to Hakkari governor’s office, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) which has been in war with Turkey for over three decades were behind the explosion.

The ceasefire between Ankara and the PKK collapsed in July 2015, causing thousands of deaths in renewed fighting since then across mainly Kurdish southeast Turkey.
