ERBIL — Three construction workers were killed on Monday in an attack allegedly carried out by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Turkey’s southeastern Kurdish areas.
The attack was carried out on a road construction site in the Dugundagi neighborhood of Sirnak province’s Uludere district, Anadolu Agency cited provincial governor’s office.
Turkish security forces soon after the offensive launched an operation in search of the attackers.
Military clashes between Turkey and PKK resumed in 2015 when a two years ceasefire between the sides collapsed after the PKK guerrillas attacked the Turkish security positions.
Turkish Interior Ministry said on Monday that they have killed 22 PKK fighters in the past seven days. Two of the Kurdish forces are also claimed to have been captured.
