International Airports in Kurdistan Region to Open Soon

ERBIL – The Iraqi Prime Minister said that he would soon reopen the international airports in the Kurdistan Region and send the Kurdish public employees’ salaries after the auditing process.

Speaking to DW News, the Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi on Monday said that after productive discussions with the Kurdistan Region officials, the international flights in the region would soon be opened, meanwhile sending the salaries of the Kurdish public employees is only a matter of time until the auditing process is successfully completed.

The Iraqi premier also shed light on the withdrawal of the US troops in Iraq and said that this was a historical mistake for Iraq since it still needed the US support in fight against the extremist groups of terrorists, especially in training the Iraqi forces.

The statement of the Iraqi PM coincides with the attempts of some factions within the Iranian-backed Hashd al-Shaabi to dominate the political process in the country.
