Four of the journalists received each 18-month sentences for taking part in a campaign in solidarity with the pro-Kurdish daily Ozgur Gundem newspaper which was closed down.

Huseyin Akyol, the paper’s editor-in-chief, was given three years and nine months, as reported by Dogan news.
